Can Harry Redknapp pull off one of the big transfer yet again this summer by landing his number 1 target Didier Drogba from Chelsea?
As we know, Harry isn’t shy of making a cheeky enquiry for players supposedly above his club’s station. He did it with Van der Vaart and the Ivorian who would surely be the answer to Tottenham’s problems up top.
Spurs struggled for goals from their front men this season and Drogba has scored 95 league goals for Chelsea since arriving in 2004. His physical presence will be a new welcome addition to the Spurs attack who look a bit wiry with Crouch and Pavlyuchenko .
The big stumbling block could be wages, as the big Ivorian is thought to be on £130,000 a week, far too luxurious a wage for Tottenham’s budget. They also will face competition from some of Europe’s top clubs as Real Madrid and Marseille have expressed their interest.
If Harry keeps Bale and Van der Vaart and can acquire Drogba then who knows what Tottenham can achieve next season.
