Trezeguet originally moved to the Alicante club for his wife, to whom he had promised to play for so she could return to the city of her birth. He has been exceptional at his new club and struck 7 times in just 11 games.
However, Trezeguet’s agent has triggered a barrage of interest by suggesting the French forward could be looking to pastures new already.
Agent, Antonio Caliendo said:
“ We live in a country where we talk about market 12 months in one year, and where rumours can turn in true negotiation”
The former Juve striker has apparently been being scouted by Italian giants Inter and when asked about a possible move to the Nerazzurri, Caliendo said:
“I can’t exclude that David would be the object of desire for some clubs, and that I talk to Inter every day.”
“But for obvious reasons I can’t make public the objectives of the discussion with the Nerazzurri.”
The agent added, “The real market will start in a while, we’ll see what is going to happen.”
Trezeguet revealed in September that both Liverpool and Lazio had been desperate to secure his services. Given his recent club form, it may only entice Hodgson even more to have another stab at securing the French International.
Given the nature of Trezeguet’s move in the summer it would write off any move in January, but if he can keep up his form throughout the season and avoid injury; rest assured the striker will be hot property come next July. Watch this space.
