The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are discussing who the citizens should be looking at bringing in to further strengthen their squad in the summer, and the latest link to the club will surely excite everyone concerned at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola is reported to be keen on making a bid for Chelsea star player Eden Hazard who has impressed during his time in the Premier League and the Belgian is one of the hottest properties around Europe still.
Pep is said to be eager to beat the other top European clubs that are in for Hazard, as he looks to build upon the fantastic foundation he has been laying for the previous two seasons. Hazard has high hopes of winning the Premier League again, and there would be no better chance for him to do that, than at the Etihad Stadium.
However, with the potential arrival of Hazard, there would undoubtedly be outgoings at the club. It’ll upset the apple cart somewhat but our landlord believes that this one player will leave the Etihad this summer if another forward is brought in to the club…
OUR VERDICT – Raheem Sterling
Sterling has enjoyed his most ruthless season in front of goal which helped the Citizens to walk the league title and complete the double with a League Cup win. However, if Hazard were to arrive at the Etihad, the Belgian winger is far superior in front of goal, which could mean the end for Sterling.
Especially with Guardiola’s array of talent to hand, someone would have to be the fall guy…and that someone should be the former Liverpool man.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
