The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are on cloud nine today…
After a stellar season last year, things are certainly on the up at Man Utd. Having finished the campaign with a Europa League win, fans are overjoyed with excitement at the prospect of attending European nights at Old Trafford once again.
This week, the good news has kept on coming, too, with the Red Devils confirming the arrival of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica. Defensively, Man Utd struggled last season, and so many in the pub are touting him as the perfect player to partner Eric Bailly at the back.
Offering strong, defensive pedigree – there is no doubting that the Man Utd back line will be far better off next season.
However, it appears as though strong tackling and positioning are now Lindelof’s only important traits. Indeed, his passing doesn’t appear too bad either. As per Opta Joe on Twitter, the defender attempted more passes than any other defender in the Portuguese top flight last season, signalling how much of an offensive outlet he may be too.
See that Tweet below…

This will be pretty important for Man Utd next season, as it seems as though the defender will look to push the ball forward where possible, meaning that the Red Devils should be far quicker on the attack.
This has made the fans in the Transfer Tavern even more excited.
