International star open to potential Chelsea move amid suggestions Conte is keen

Perisic

A name not so often heard echoing around the halls of the rather raucous Thursday post-work sessions in the Transfer Tavern is currently on the lips of the Chelsea brigade who so often pop in.

As the dust settles on the confirmation of Italy boss Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager from this summer onwards, a host of players based in Serie A have naturally been linked with a Stamford switch.

However, speculation surrounding a potential interest in Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic appeared in Italian publication Corriere dello Sport in recent days.

Following on from that, the Croatian international’s agent has since revealed that the former Wolfsburg man would indeed be open to discussions regarding a potential move to West London.

‘To be linked to a club like Chelsea and a manager like Antonio Conte is very exciting for Perisic’, Tonci Martic told Goal.com

‘The Premier League is the best league in the world and Chelsea is a massive club so we would happily talk about it but a deal is far at this moment.’

The 27-year old has played across the frontline for the Nerazzurri this season, though has still managed to muster eight goals from 23 stats with the San Siro giants.

Goals from midfield have been a problem for the Blues amid the nightmare defence of their title, with last year’s Player of the Year Eden Hazard proving to be a major flop this term.
