It seems that Alan Pardew and Newcastle could be involved in an almighty transfer tussle come January as they are set to battle it out with the extremely wealthy Paris St Germain for Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko
This 21 year old Frenchman has been compared to midfield powerhouses like Mahamadou Diarra and Patrick Vieira because of his similar style, stature and the ability to make a difference at both ends of the field.
Rumours have it that Sissoko is ready to sign a pre-contract with the Magpies in January before his contract with Toulouse ends in the summer, however moneybags PSG could be about to swoop in to steal the rangy midfielder at the final hour (link).
Carlo Ancelotti has a lot of cash at his disposal in the french capital and will no doubt have enough to outbid Newcastle in persuading Sissoko to remain in his home country.
However, the ever growing french speaking contingent on Tyneside could convince Sissoko to cross the channel and try his hand in the Premier League as it has been reported that midfielder Yohan Cabaye has talked up life in the North East (link).
Sissoko has claimed it is his dream to play in the Premier League and, if he was to make the move to Newcastle, the midfielder could really shine in the English game.
At just 21 he already has five caps for France and all the necessary talents to flourish in the Premier League. Sissoko’s great pace and strength combined with his goalscoring abilities and stern tackling is a recipe for success in the English game.
He could add some real energy to the Magpies midfield and would be a perfect foil for Tiote and Cabaye in the engine room of Pardew’s Champions League chasing side.
Sissoko seemingly has his sights set on a dream move to England and Newcastle look to be in the driving seat in acquiring his services, however the deal isn’t done yet and a lot can change between now and January.
PSG could table an offer that would simply be too good to refuse or another Premier League side in the shape of Fulham, Liverpool, Everton or Tottenham Hotspur could swoop in with a bid.
It is a transfer that still has a long way to go and is mostly a question of whether Sissoko goes with his heart, and follows his Premier League ambitions, or with his head by accepting a substantial financial package from PSG.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
