Sunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their club make a couple of attacking signings this summer to bounce them straight back to the Championship.
Ex-St Mirren manager Jack Ross has taken over at the Stadium of Light after their relegation and subsequent sacking of Chris Coleman.
Signing an exciting and creative player will be key for Ross to get the fans on board early in the season after the club suffered two successive relegations. One player he should certainly fight for in the transfer market is Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.
Hull, Derby and Rangers are also reportedly in for the 23-year-old but Ross could attempt to use his connections in Scotland to put the Black Cats at the front of the queue.
Jones scored four goals and created 10 assists last season in Scottish football and is valued at just £500,000 by Transfermarkt, although it is likely to take much more than that to prise him away from Rugby Park.
He can play on either wing or in behind a striker and his form last season even led to a call-up for the Northern Ireland national side. This is a transfer that would certainly improve the quality of Sunderland’s starting XI and truly excite fans once more, such is the nature of his ability.
Sunderland fans – thoughts on Jones?
