As the transfer window prepares to slam shut, Blackburn have not embarked on the wholesale changes many fans may have expected, but they appear set for some late action as midfielder Mauro Formica looks to leave.
The midfielder is unhappy at struggling Rovers and told The Mirror last month “I want to be with my daughter Rosario, I miss her very much. For me it’s time to go home”.
He looks like he may now get his wish to move back to South America as The Mirror reports Brazilian Side Flamengo have made a £3 million bid.
Blackburn may feel the player is worth more than this, but as the transfer window shuts boss Steve Kean needs the funds from this deal to fund some of his own last minute moves, such as Fulham’s Andy Johnson.
Despite the players solid performances for Rovers, it seems unlikely fans will be too disappointed to see Formica leave, and watch in hope of who may join new arrival Marcus Olsson on the final day of the window.
