A Leicester City supporting punter was reading the Daily Mail in the Transfer Tavern when he got so startled from what he read he almost knocked over his pint.
The publication is claiming that Spanish giants Barcelona could be planning to take Leicester’s early season hero Riyad Mahrez.
The 24-year-old winger has had four goals in four appearances for the Foxes this season, making him the top scorer in the Premier League this season.
After not being noticed for his full potential in Leicester’s return to the English top division last season, he has flourished this season showing of his skillful tricky playing-style and causing constant problems for other clubs in defence.
With Leicester enjoying a stunning start to the season with many thanks to Mahrez, they will definitely miss the Algerian if he is sold in the next transfer window. Meaning if he is snapped up then the Tavern will not inhabit its usual jolly Leicester fans we have come accustomed to this season!
Barcelona sold Pedro to Chelsea in the summer window so could be looking at Mahrez as possible replacement to reinforce their already brilliant attack!
But do you think Mahrez would leave to Barcelona? And if he did do you think Leicester could cope without him? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
