Leeds United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox discussing news that one of their youngsters could be on the move.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that both Everton and Sunderland are considering making January bids for Sam Byram, after the player rejected a new contract at Elland Road.
The 22-year-old can play on the right side of defence or midfield has been told by Steve Evans that either he signs the new deal on the table, or leaves the club as he doesn’t want anyone at the club who is not 100% committed to the club.
Evans speaking about Byram’s future said :”If Sam doesn’t want to commit his future to us then I don’t want him around because we only want players here who want to be at this football club.
“There is no point in him sitting around being a bit-part player here. He’s got too much in the locker for that.
“I’ll still involve him for as long as he is here, and I would love him to be a part of our future.
“We shall have another go at trying to get him to stay but, if he has not signed a deal with us by January, then you have got to think somebody’s going to come and buy him.”
The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern are in full agreement with their manager, and if the player doesn’t want to sign the deal he should leave the club!
Frank, a hardcore Leeds United fan over by the pool table, says that Byram is a fantastic footballer and it would be a shame to see him go, but admits he’s got no time for any players that do not want to be at the Yorkshire outfit!
