Leeds United are thriving under Marcelo Bielsa’s new style of football

The great run of form continued for Leeds as Bielsa’s men stormed to the top of the table with a 3-0 victory over Norwich City yesterday.

After an early onslaught by Norwich City, Leeds United’s quick, attacking and high-tempo style of play proved to be too much for Norwich.

Goals from Mateusz Klich, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez ensured that Leeds kept up their brilliant start to the season and remain unbeaten.

Moreover, following a tough game against Swansea in midweek where Leeds only managed to get a 2-2 draw, the Whites needed to get back on track and keep the pressure on their promotion rivals.

Following the win yesterday, Alioski praised the style football the club is playing.

The Breakdown

At the start of the season, it was unsure how well the club would do under Marcelo Bielsa. Leeds were either going to play devastating football or it was going to go downhill but so far, it’s been the former.

It is still early in the season but the way in which the team is playing and how well the likes of Alioski, Kemar Roofe and Samu Saiz are playing has been incredible.

Indeed, Roofe’s pass for Alioski’s goal yesterday was absolutely outstanding and it was something that the fans didn’t see the former Oxford United man do last year.

What’s for certain is that Bielsa is going to work his players hard and get them playing high energy football.

How long the players can keep it up for is uncertain but it looks like it’s going to be an exciting season for the club.
