Leeds United boss vows to fight on despite ban

Massimo CellinoRegular customers in the Transfer Tavern have seen it all over the years in British football, however the nonsense surrounding Leeds United comes close to topping the lot.

Chairman Massimo Cellino has had a barmy start to the week having sacked yet another manager in Uwe Rosler and appointing controversial Steve Evans as new head coach. The Italian was also hit with a potential ban from owning the Yorkshire club until June next year if his appeal fails.

The Mirror has reported that Cellino has vowed not to get pushed out of Leeds and is determined to stay and fight for the club. He said:

“I will stand up for Leeds. I do not care, I will fight it.I have spoken to my lawyers and we have plenty we can say. They will not win.”

“I will stay and fight for Leeds because I need to look after the club. I will stand up for this club because I care about it.”

This whole event is just yet another episode in the crazy tenure under Cellino since he arrived at Leeds. The sacking of Rosler and the appointment of Evans has also raised many eyebrows among the Leeds fans. Evans is the seventh manager in the last 18 months for the club and fans will be craving some stability under the former Rotherham manager.
