Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are looking for their side to ensure consistency throughout next season, as this was one of the things that let them down in the last campaign.
The Yorkshire club will be looking to appoint a new manager as soon as possible, with pre-season being key in terms of securing promotion to the Premier League next season. Although, it looks like Leeds have bigger things to worry about right now, as according to The Sun on Sunday (June 10th, page 60) (via HITC), Matej Vydra might go to Leeds United in a cash-plus-player deal that would involve Tom Pearce.
Indeed, it’s understood that Tom Pearce could end up at Pride Park if he is involved in a cash-plus-player deal that would send Matej Vydra to Elland Road.
The Leeds youngster established himself as one of the most promising players in English football towards the end of last season, and recently signed a new four-year contract. However, it’s understood that the 20-year-old is receiving interest from the Premier League, with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace keeping tabs.
There’s no doubt that Tom Pearce is the most promising Leeds United player since Sam Byram, as he was one of the standout performers towards the end of last season and has already shown that he can outclass many of his teammates at such a young age. Similarly to Byram, Pearce operates as a full-back and is also receiving interest, so the Whites could lose the defender if he is involved in a potential move for Vydra this summer.
