Another week as a Leeds United fan goes by, with yet more transfer dealings, souring the faces of Leeds fans across the country.
Robert Snodgrass’ £3 million departure to Norwich, has seen yet another captain leave for the same club, as the clearence sale of ‘top named players’ continues, after the departure of Fabian Delph, Max Gradel, Bradley Johnson, Johnny Howson and now Robert Snodgrass.
So who should step up to fill the boots of now distant memories? Luke Varney has been plucked from the cash strapped grasps of Portsmouth, with Neil Warnock claiming he will replace Robert Snodgrass, slightly worrying, given Luke Varney’s injury record.
David Norris and Paul Green look set to fill the void left by Johnny Howson and Adam Clayton. Not quite the youthful approach taken by Neil Warnock in that department; only time will tell of experience v youth.
Ross McCormack continues to impress in pre-season, after a brace against Torquay United in a 2-1 victory over the League 2 side. However this comes with possible disappointing outcome, as the Scottish International is currently first on show in the shop window at Elland Road, with a buy now probably pay later price tag.
So as the season grows ever closer, a not so famous club Leeds United, seem to be spending every day in the headlines, with players coming and going and a gaffer who threatened to walk out, only for his son to persuade him otherwise.
Neil Warnock still continues his quest to bring in fresh faces, with Lee Peltier an official target and Nicky Maynard an alleged target. So if it’s boring and predictable you want, I suggest you pack up your white scarves and your love of Yorkshire Puddings and follow another team, as Leeds United prefer the rollercoaster style of life.
Oh, did I mention there is a takeoever still going on at Leeds United. Must have slipped my mind ….
