Metro have brought a tense atmosphere to the Football Transfer Tavern as Liverpool and Chelsea will go head to head as they chase CSKA Moscow’s pacey striker, Seydou Doumbia.
The 26-year-old impressed punters in the Tavern after he scored both the goals which saw the Russian side beat Manchester City 2-1 in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium.
Both managers are seeking extra firepower, with Jose Mourinho looking for extra cover for Diego Costa, whilst Brendan Rodgers is desperate to bring the goals back to Anfield.
Which is why the Reds are fully examining the forward before they submit a bid, and they sent scouts out for the fifth time as they monitored the player against City.
And after hearing about his fine display at the Etihad, Rodgers is considering a £15m bid for the Ivorian, knowing in the back of his mind, he may be competing with the financial power of Chelsea.
It is thought that a move to the Blues is very much alive despite talks breaking down last summer.
And unlike last time, a move to England is very likely to happen this time around, as the player is desperate to play in the Premier League and he will be looking to force a move through to one of these giants.
