According to the Mirror, Porto’s Ruben Neves has picked up attention from across Europe after already making 10 first team appearances.
It is believed the Reds have scouted him three times this season and have been impressed with what they have seen as it is well known the club are seeking a long term replacement to step in for Steven Gerrard.
Neves has been compared to Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets in the past and this style of footballer is imperative to Brendan Rodgers’ 4-3-3 system, so he will hope he can tie him up in January.
And punters believe this is the right way to go about replacing the big gap that will be left when Gerrard leaves the club.
Because in their opinion, if the club were to spend lots of money on one individual they would be put under huge pressure to succeed, whilst if plenty of highly talented youngsters were brought in they would be given time to adapt to Liverpool’s style and could then be seamlessly brought into the first team.
