Liverpool set to hand Manchester City striker a Premier League lifeline?

Jovetic.jpgLiverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern fear that this is another huge risk from their boss after the Daily Mirror revealed that Brendan Rodgers wants to sign Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic.

The Montenegro international clearly has bags of ability but the reason why it has not worked out for him at the Etihad is because of the fact he is injury prone.

It is believed the Reds are going to submit a cut-price offer of £12m as it is believed Jovetic is one of many stars to be sold in the summer at City.

Reports have strongly linked the 25-year-old with a move back to Italy after he made a name for himself in Serie A after playing for Fiorentina.

But Rodgers could offer him a lifeline to stay in the Premier League as he is keen to boost his striking options, after this department let him down during the current campaign.

Punters in the Tavern are shocked that Rodgers is going to make another risk, after he gambled on £16m flop Mario Balotelli and local lad Rickie Lambert.

Liverpool fans. Do you think Stevan Jovetic could prove himself at Anfield or would it be another huge risk that isn’t worth taking? Let us know your thoughts below.
