Liverpool set to miss out on transfer of 18-year-old wonderkid, first professional deal imminent

Paris Saint-Germain are set to end Liverpool’s hopes of landing exciting young central defender Mahamadou Dembele by offering the player a professional deal.

With no deal forthcoming the Reds had hoped to land the 18-year-old in order to bolster their defensive ranks but the French giants are now set to offer the player a deal, according to L’Equipe via Talk Sport.

The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have spent this season pulling their hair out over the team’s average defending, with a new defender or two set to be high on boss Jurgen Klopp’s list of targets.

Dembele is likely to put pen-to-paper on a new contract in the coming weeks to end any hopes that Liverpool had of luring the youngster to Anfield.

One Reds supporter is having an early morning fry-up and a pint here in the Tavern and he is actually pretty pleased with this news, stating that the club should be going for someone with more experience rather than stocking up on young players for the future.

Liverpool fans, do you know much about Dembele? Would he have been a good signing for the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
