Liverpool set to move for Manchester City forward?

Attacking Midfield - Stevan JoveticLiverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the potential signing of a new striker after the claims Metro have made that the Reds are interested in Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic this summer.

The 25-year-old has yet to impress within his two seasons spent with City off the back of a £22 million move from former club Fiorentina in 2013.

The Montenegro striker has just 11 goals in 39 appearances to his name within the last two seasons, and is fourth choice striker at the Etihad following the arrival of Wilfried Bony from Swansea City.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be sure to be on the lookout to bolster his attacking options for the next season after enduring a goal drought last campaign, since being unable to fill the void Luis Suarez left behind.

And Jovetic appears to be the newest striker on the transfer list for the Reds, who is suggested to cost in the region of £16m to bring him to Anfield.

A number of Reds fans here in the Transfer Tavern feel that Jovetic would be an excellent signing, with all of them agreeing that a new striker is undoubtedly needed at Anfield before the start of the new season!
