According to the Express Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton will battle it out to sign Aston Villa’s Fabien Delph on a free transfer at the end of the season, as he refuses to sign a new deal at the club.
The 24-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and it is thought he is going to see out his current deal before heading elsewhere on a free transfer.
Delph has been one of Villa’s very few glimmer of hopes this season after his good performances were rewarded with a call up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad.
This rise to the national team has undoubtedly alerted the top teams in the Premier League who are eagerly waiting for his contract to expire.
It is believed the hierarchy at Villa have done all they can and have offered him an improved deal which would see him earn £50,000-a-week but even this lucrative sum of money isn’t enough to extend his stay.
He is obviously seeking a move to Liverpool, Spurs or Everton who play better football and are challenging at the other end of the Premier League table.
And this will improve him as a footballer as well grant him better opportunities as he tries to establish himself in the international side.
