Former Standard Liege player, Jovanovic, was signed by the Reds on a free during Benitez’s tenure as the Liverpool boss. Despite Hodgson taking the reins at the Anfield club, his contract was still honoured when Rafa left for Inter Milan.
However, the 29-year-old has struggled to find his form since his move from Belgium. He began the season as a first XI player but has since fallen out of favour with new manager Hodgson despite coming to England with a fantastic reputation.
Many Liverpool fans may be disappointed with the performance of the Serbian thus far this campaign, but he has constantly been played on the left-wing despite also being able to play as a striker.
The News of the World are suggesting that a bid for as little as £3million would be enough for the Serbian’s services which could alert several Premier League clubs such as West Bromwich Albion or Birmingham.
Jovanovic has only made 8 apps in the league for Liverpool this campaign with his last start coming against Birmingham City back in September. Jovanovic may be ruing his decision to join the Reds after he turned down a move to Real Madrid in 2009 for fears that he would not play enough games.
