The Metro are reporting that Liverpool are ready to pay just over £10 million to bring Jordan Veretout, currently of Nantes in Ligue 1, to Merseyside.
While the player, who has made a reputation of dictating play in the middle of the park, he may not be seen as a ‘dream signing’ for the Liverpool fans here in the Tavern, our landlord had something to say about about this rumour as he so usually does.
“Every season there is always a few surprise packages who really thrive in the Premier league, I reckon this lad could be one of those and Liverpool could definitely do with some strengthening in midfield since Stevie G left.”
The Frenchman, aged just 22, has played over 100 games for Nantes scoring 14 times. Whilst he has played every age group since U-18, he may well decide to make the move to the Premier league to boost his chances of breaking into the France National team senior squad in time for the Euros.
