Evans was apparently given the famous hairdryer treatment following a poor performance against West Ham in the Carling Cup, which saw United slip to a shock 4-0 defeat.
Now Wolves, Wigan and Newcastle face a 3-way tussle for the United defender, each of them will be keen on strengthening their back four and will be encouraged by the chance to avoid paying too much of the player’s wages.
Evans talked to The Sun regarding his recent dip in form,
“This is probably the biggest challenge I have had.”
“It is the first time I have been taken out of the team because of my performances.”
Evans is no stranger to loan deals. The 22-year-old spent two spells on loan at Sunderland earlier in his career under former manager and United captain Roy Keane. He was once also loaned out to United’s Belgian feeder club, Royal Antwerp, during the 2006-07 season.
Despite any dip in form, many Prem clubs will be on the phone to SAF as soon as possible to arrange a deal. The highly rated youngster has regularly impressed for United and Sir Alex will be keen to see the defender get back to his best for the start of the 2011/2012 season.
