We may still be getting used to Mario Balotelli leaving our shores but Gazzetta Dello Sport are thrilled to have the former Manchester City player back in his native Italy.
Not a day goes by without the player making the headlines seemingly this time at least for the right reasons and it would be fair to say Italy are going mad for Mario. After downright hysteria when he returned to the club, now all focus is on the aftermath of his sublime debut for the club.
Adriano Galliani has spoken about his joy at having the player back and has claimed “Balotelli? I was extremely pleased with his debut. It took us a long time and a lot of effort to get his signature on the dotted line. I have no idea how many points Balo will mean for us, but he will surely add fire-power. Pazzini has meant a lot to us to as regards points. Let’s be careful not to become an AC Milan side which can depend too much on Balotelli.”
He also noted a comparison between Mario and someone we also see as somewhat of a cult hero – Zlatan Ibrahomovic. The AC Milan supremo quipped: “Balotelli is a charismatic presence on the pitch, just like Ibra was and it would have been absurd to think he could have scored after thirty-five seconds,” Luckily for AC, absurd is what Mario does best and after netting a double for the club in the home victory over Udinese, the Rossoneri have managed to move level with local rivals Inter Milan in the Serie A standings.
