Milan vice president bullish over futures of striking duo

There has been more talk here in the Football Transfer Tavern about the future of the forward line at AC Milan than there has about the prices of our beer and Gazzetta Dello Sport have another Christmas corker for us.

Amidst reports of Rosonerri strikers departing this January, AC Milan claim they are doing everything in their power to keep hold of both Alexandre Pato and Robinho with the pair heavily linked with moves away from the San Siro this January. After the summer departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Serie A giants can ill afford anymore high profile departures.

Milan vice preident Adriano Galliani claims: “I’ll do everything I can to keep Robinho here. I’m not sure I’ll succeed but I’ll try my hardest to persuade him. Yes, we’ve received an offer for Pato.”

Of course, any departures would then leave Milan in as big a pickle as the tavern if Sky Sports went down on derby day and when asked about the potential arrivals of Didier Drogba and Javier Pastore to replace the two potential departees, Galliani was even more telling saying: “It’s not possible to sign Drogba. The same goes for Javier Pastore: we’ve enquired about him but PSG aren’t letting him go.”

Clearly this would go down like a lead balloon with Milan fans, and given the club face a last 16 Champions League tie with Barcelona, AC can ill afford to lose such firepower in their lineup.
