Milan’s £15M For VDV Will Help Fund Harry’s Next Transfer Spend Up

Harry Redknapp’s refusal to sell key players in the recent transfer window with backing from Chairman Daniel Levy is the main obstacle for another emerging transfer saga.

Key to last season’s early success as Spurs mesmerised opposition defence with the pace of Gareth Bale and the guile of the veteran Van der Vaart, notably their success in the champions league where the Dutch playmakers form was essential component in memorable victories over some of Europeans largest teams.

However a downturn in performances, led to questions over the Dutchman’s fitness, Spurs’ form began to dip in the league as they struggled to 5th place. His quality undoubted, the absence of Champions League could tempt a move to play for the Azzuri as the 32 year old’s chance to play for major honours is running short, something he is not always guaranteed at Spurs.

His recent outburst after being dropped for Europa League came away in Greece, shows a certain discontent for how current manager treats the competition, adding fuel to the idea of an attractive move to the San Siro. This followed up by a position on the bench for the game he was supposedly was rested for as Spurs blew away a disappointing Liverpool.

Redknapp opted for a 4-4-2 with new on loan star Adebayor starting up front with Jermaine Defoe, questions again arise over the lack in balance of the side when Van der Varrt plays.

Redknapp blew away the transfer day deadline 2 years ago with a famous last ditch move for the 8 million midfielder as he was cast aside by Mourihno and his new look Madrid team.

It would take a bid in the region of 15million to prize Van der Vaart away from White Hart Lane who have been adamant on holding on to their key players, however a below par return in the league by January could leave the former HSV and Madrid player unhappy and pave the way for a lucrative transfer to the Italian Champions.
