The Daily Mirror has a rather interesting piece of information here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that QPR could well be set to move for Newcastle United’s Steven Taylor.
The long serving Magpies defender has been on the sidelines for around a month now and as one of our punters notes, it is no wonder given the sensational form Alan Pardew’s side have been in.
Since returning to full fitness, Taylor has seen his place in the side disappear to Mike Williamson and could well be open to a move, at least on loan.
Harry Redknapp is keen to bring in a defender this January and has already tried to land Taylor once – and has no qualms about returning once again.
Newcastle also face another issue with Taylor whose contract is soon about to expire and given there are no offers currently on the table, a loan move with a view to a permanent deal could well be on the cards.
Once upon a time it would be unthinkable to call Taylor an outcast at the Toon, being tracked by the likes of Chelsea in the past, yet now it seems that a move to the Championship may well be his only chance of first team football this term.
Can Taylor win his place back in Pardew’s side or will a loan move materialise? Let us know your thoughts below.
