There has been a lot of commotion in the Football Transfer Tavern after the controversial appointment of Joe Kinnear as director of football to act under Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew.
Magpies fans are dismayed by the news now the former Wimbledon manager is in charge of bringing players into the club which could easily undermine Pardew’s position.
However this news hasn’t slowed down speculation over possible summer targets with Simon Jones from Mail Online suggesting that they are close to bringing French teenager Olivier Keman from Metz to St. James’ Park as Pardew looks to add to his growing collection of French talent at the club.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play as a striker, is rated as one of the country’s finest young talents and has already made his debut for the Les Bleus Under-19 national team.
Sources from France indicate that Magpies’ chief scout Graham Carr has spotted him as one for the future in the North East with talks already in progress between the two clubs in view to a possible summer transfer.
Can the St. James’ Park club bring yet another French starlet to the club? Rate this rumour below.
