The Daily Mail have a cracker of a claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon as they think Yohan Cabaye could well be on his way out of Newcastle United and he is not the only one.
The club have been left reeling since the appointment of Joe Kinnear who despite having Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger on speed dial, does not seem to know the names of his own players and has left the squad fuming with his ill advised rants.
Now it seems that the board are fearful that the wantaway players in the squad such as Cabaye could well use this as the springboard for their exit. Not so long ago, Cabaye was calling for Manchester United to come and get him and now it seems being referred to as ‘Kebab’ could well be the final straw in regards to his spell on Tyneside.
The French international is of course one of the most popular players at the club – and this has not gone unnoticed around Europe with a host of clubs set to pounce on the creative player.
Add to this the already dubious future of players such as Cheick Tiote, Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Afra – sorry Arfa – over the Wonga controversy and you have a very concerned manager Alan Pardew. Now Kinnear has total control over the arrivals and departures at the club, it is not only the players futures that is in doubt – Alan Pardew himself is seriously considering his future if is authority is undermined.
