Nottingham Forest close to new ownership as Greek investor awaits approval

The Nottingham Forest supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have been bitterly disappointed with the club’s atrocious campaign, with more boardroom uncertainty, managerial upheaval and under performing players at the heart of their frustrations.

The Reds are now managed by Mark Warburton and he will need to ensure that the club picks up enough points during the last four games of the season to stave off the threat of relegation to League One.

Our landlord has been flicking through the day’s newspapers and an article in the Daily Mirror has caught his eye regarding the Nottingham Forest takeover situation.

The piece suggests that Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis has agreed terms to purchase the East Midlands-based club and that he is now awaiting for approval from the Football League.

One Forest fan has overheard the landlord talking about this news and he thinks that the sooner the club is purchased from Fawaz Al Hasawi the better things can start to become, stating that nothing will change on the pitch until something does away from it.

Forest fans, do you welcome this change in ownership? Can the club stay in the Championship this season? Let us know in the comments below!!!
