Nottingham Forest should look to bolster back four with move for recently released Norwich City man

Nottingham Forest will know later today whether or not they have retained their Championship status and their supporters who are in the Football Transfer Tavern this morning are getting pretty nervous.

Forest know that anything less than three points against the Tractor Boys this afternoon could consign them to League One football next season, whilst a massive win for Blackburn Rovers could ensure that Forest are relegated even if they win!

Regardless of what division the club plies its trade in next season there is little doubting that the Forest squad needs some serious maintenance to take place if it is to become competitive during the 2017/18 campaign.

Mark Warburton is a shrewd manager and even if the club is relegated today the club’s summer targets shouldn’t change too much given the size and history associated with the club.

One area that definitely needs addressing next season is the heart of the back four, with only bottom club Rotherham United having conceded more goals than the Reds during this campaign.

One man who should top the Reds’ wishlist is recently released Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett who not too long ago was tipped for a move to a Premier League club after some solid form whilst playing for the Canaries in the top flight.

The 27-year-old still has several years left ahead of him and with him being available on a free transfer it makes the move a must for a Forest side who desperately need to add some steel to their defence during the summer.

Forest fans, would you welcome Bennett to the club? Would he be a better option than any of the current defenders at the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
