Manchester City again have started the season very well as they continue to look a force under Pep Guardiola.
With some of the best players in world football, it isn’t a mystery as to how they’re so good and it seems their spending won’t stop as they plan their next colossal move in January.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo via The Sun are reporting that Manchester City are preparing a massive £62 million bid for Frenkie De Jong and that could prove to be a decisive transfer in deciding the title this season.
The youngster is dubbed as potentially one of the best midfielders in football and has shown exactly why this season with an array of show-stopping performances.
So what could this move mean for current City stars…
The end for Ilkay Gundogan
The German midfielder would arguably be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League on his day but too often his form and run in the team is disturbed by injury.
With Frenkie De Jong’s potential arrival as well, City would have too many talented options and Gundogan could therefore be placed bottom of the pecking order, making room for the younger and possibly better Dutchman.
Guardiola’s options expand even further
Manchester City have one of the greatest squads in football and their options are seemingly endless. Pep Guardiola is a manager who always gets the best out of his players and that will be no different if they sign Ajax’s Frenkie De Jong.
The 21-year-old has now been capped for Holland and he continues to shine with Ajax, making him a potentially brilliant acquisition now and for years to come.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
