Power struggle could see potential Newcastle deal fall through

Just over 12 months after a dismal relegation from the Premier League, the Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern cannot stop celebrating.

The Magpies are finally embarking on the upward trajectory the fans had been praying for over the past few years and our resident Geordies are looking forward to next season.

As much debate as they have in regards to potential incomings over the course of the summer, a few of the drinkers in today are discussing who needs to leave.

So, reports from the Northern Echo have proven rather interesting indeed. They claim Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing defender Grant Hanley, just a year after he moved to St. James’ Park.

The Scotland international never truly convinced in black and white, so our locals are slightly annoyed at these reports. While Paul Lambert is reportedly trying to sign the former Blackburn skipper, the power struggle behind the scenes at Molineux may see transfers moved out of the manager’s hands.

Hoping to sell him in order to raise funds, the Newcastle fans here want Hanley out.
