Premier League duo eager to activate release clause for Championship winger

grayyyyBirmingham City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox discussing reports that two Premier League teams are considering January bids for one of their top performers so far this season.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that both Leicester City and Bournemouth are keen to activate the player’s release clause in his contract, which is reported to be at the cost of £3.75 million.

It would be a bitter blow for Gary Rowett to lose such an influential player during the winter window, considering how well the side have performed during the opening three months of the season.

It is unclear as to whether the 19-year-old will want to leave the club during the winter window, with the club handily placed in eighth position in the Championship, but should he decide to stay until the summer and Birmingham fail to achieve promotion, Gray’s release clause with drop to just £3 million.

The Birmingham City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that Gray will stay for the rest of the season, and help the club finally make it’s return to the Premier League.

A handful of Leicester City fans feel this would be a fantastic signing for the Foxes, and he would fit quite nicely into the fast, free-flowing football that Ranieri has implemented.
