In a sensational bit of news that has caused everyone at the Football Transfer Tavern to put down their drink and take notice, it has been reported in Marca that Real Madrid pair Crisitano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho are causing major interest in the French capital.
It has been claimed that CR7 and The Special One are wanted by mega bucksParis Saint Germain, who despite beating Lyon to consolidate their position as league favourites, have struggled under Carlo Ancelotti and with Ronaldo’s and Mourinho’s positions far from comfortable at Madrid, the rumour is growing more and more intense in the Spanish Capital.
Real Madrid currently lie 13 points off the summit in La Liga in third and failed to top their Champions League group, and with Mourinho declaring that there are “three black sheep” in the dressing room and that the league is “impossible” not to mention the humdinger of Ronaldo professing his unhappiness earlier this season, it would not be a huge shock to see the pair leave in the summer – in a mega money deal of course.
The pair are both represented by super agent Jorge Mendes who also looks after a host of other Madrid players – and as our landlord points out, given Mourinho’s habit surrounding taking his players with him, the pair could both end up in France sometime in the future.
When asked if the club wanted the duo, PSG owner Sheikh Nasser Al Khelaifi’s right hand man Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani replied “of course”. It is fair to say that Florentino Perez may be panicking right now if there are any depth to these rumours.
