QPR ace set for exit door?

samba.jpgAn interesting story has reached us in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of Adrian Kajumba of the Daily Star, regarding a potential return to a former club for QPR defender Christopher Samba less than six months after leaving.

Samba has come under fire since joining QPR on deadline day in January for some below par performances. The players £100,000-a-week wages have come under scrutiny, and made him a target for supporters angry at the clubs performances.

The 29-year-old Congo international only joined the club on deadline day for £12.5 million, signing a four-and-a-half year contract, but now it looks as if he is going to be sold regardless of whether the club stays up or not.

His old club, mega rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are keen to buy the player back less than six months after selling him.

Samba only played in Russia for 11 months before returning to the Premier League and was the victim of racist abuse during his time there.

Despite this, Samba would be open to a return after saying he was “thoroughly enjoying” his time in Russia and what he suffered there was “no different to what I have experienced in other countries.”

Anzhi are confident they can tempt him back, being one of the only other clubs in Europe possibly willing to match his wages.
