According to Tuttomeractoweb.com, Arsenal’s Spanish keeper Manuel Almunia is being eyed by Spanish clubs Valencia and Atletico Madrid. The 34 year-old has endured a tough time in north-London from the fans and media alike due to his erratic and often costly performances.
Atletico are looking for a replacement for their own Spanish stopper David de Gea, after the 20 year-old’s £18.3m move to Old Trafford.
The Spaniard’s exit has been mooted for some time now, his recent exclusion from the gunners tour of Asia looks ominous for the former Celta Vigo keeper.
Almunia, who is still eligible for an England call-up, has regularly voiced his frustration at finding himself on the bench after losing his spot to Wojciech Szczezny during the second half of the season.
