The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking ahead to next season with a lot of optimism. It hasn’t been a great summer so far, but signs are beginning to show that things will turn around.
First and foremost, with any luck, their managerial situation will be resolved sooner, rather than later. It’s been a long time coming, but you’d expect that the Blues will make their decision before the World Cup ends.
Furthermore, and more directly, a number of Chelsea players are impressing over in Russia at the World Cup. The likes of Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Willian have all been regulars for their countries, and that should bode well heading into next season.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is another player that has done well, and you’d expect him to be able to get a chance in the team next season – but that might not be the case. According to the Telegraph, though Chelsea won’t sell him, his short-term future is far from assured. He could yet be loaned out this summer if he isn’t deemed suitable enough to be a regular starter.

Naturally, given his fine form, fans are desperate for him to get a chance – with plenty of Chelsea supporters taking to Twitter to reveal their frustration at the update.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
If that happens then simply stop running the club. They’ve failed and need to hand in their resignations. Ridiculous notion and would show them for the charlatans they are

Just play him in the cup games and Europa league

From this fan’s distance, it seems utterly bizarre that @ChelseaFC are willing to let an England international (and a massive talent) go out on loan, while Bakayoko will be trusted ahead of him.

If they loan him again there will be a backlash as you can’t tell me he’s not good enough to play in that team

Rediculous he’s been great they should be working to include him absolute joke of a club

I wish Chelsea and their board would learn obviously lessons. He’s ready so put him in. When it comes to basics Roman and Marina are clueless. The club isn’t well run at all at the moment.

This is depressing. Could easily start over any midfielder we've got except Kante

Has to come a moment we give him a shot. No sense keeping on the hook – let's see if he can cut it…
