Ronaldo set to snub new Real contract?

In news that will not only put Premier League clubs on red alert but all clubs from here to the moon, AS report that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is set to reject a new contract from the club.

Ronaldo is currently under contract until 2015 and the Spanish giants had been preparing an improved offer for the player taking his salary from 10 million euros after tax to 15, yet the player does not want more money but more support from the club.

The 26-year-old expressed his sadness with life in Madrid earlier this season and things remain the same with little support in the Lionel Messi rivalry offered to the forward leaving the player to resign himself to leaving the club as soon as he can.

Of course this will interest many clubs, but none more so than Manchester United who may now be able to negotiate a deal for the player or even wait until Ronaldo’s contract has run down so he can return to Old Trafford on a free.

With Patrice Evra claiming that: “I have been in touch with him many times, he still loves Manchester United and misses Manchester United. He has done some incredible things for Real Madrid, he broke all the records, but they didn’t show him the respect he deserves,” it seems that whilst PSG and Real Madrid may throw money at Ronaldo, his heart remains in Manchester and that will be music to the ears of United fans.
