Chelsea finished the season with a 0-0 draw at Leicester City to cement third place and a place in the Champions League.
In a season where has been so much bad press about the Blues and apparent issues within the squad, manager Mauro Sarri has managed to get the club what it wanted and still has a Europa League final to look forward too as well.
However, despite the disruption and what some consider issues at the club, it has to be said that Sarri deserves a lot more credit than is coming his way.
Chelsea are always a difficult club to come in and manage, and with constant speculation surrounding his star players like Eden Hazard, he has done a tremendous job of getting his Chelsea team in and amongst the Champions League places and still in with a shout of silverware.
It’s not always been the most free flowing football under Sarri, and the famed ‘Sarri Ball’ has not quite come to fruition just yet it would seem. However, there is plenty to be optimistic about for the Blues as they look to next season, and even with a transfer ban hanging over the club, Chelsea fans will still be hopeful of success under Sarri.
The Italian might well use this summer to his advantage if he isn’t allowed to bring new players in, with team bonding and spirit likely to be at the top of his agenda as he looks to get the most from his squad.
Sarri had plenty of success with Napoli over in Serie A, and if he is afforded the time and given the support he needs, then there is every chance Chelsea can return to league winning ways under the Italian.
