It was play-off heartache for the Sheffield Wednesday supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern this past week as the Owls crashed out at the semi-final stage to a dogged Huddersfield Town side.
The Owls fans were in the Tavern until the early hours of Thursday morning drowning their sorrows and after spending huge amounts of money in order to try and win promotion, it looks set to be a long and worrying summer for the South Yorkshire-based club.
Regardless of who is in charge of the club next season there is little doubting that the club will need some new recruits if they are to finally secure promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
One man who would represent a solid signing for Wednesday is Celtic winger Scott Sinclair who has revived his career north of the border and may jump at the chance for one final crack at becoming a hit in the English game.
Failed spells at Manchester City and Aston Villa ensured that he was no longer deemed as a solid signing during last summer and it was his former Swansea City boss, Brendan Rodgers, who plucked him from obscurity and signed him for Celtic.
The tricky winger has netted 25 goals in his maiden season for the Hoops and he has taken the Scottish Premier League by storm during a scintillating campaign for the club.
According to www.transfermarkt.co.uk, the ex-Chelsea youngster would be available for in the region of £3.4 million and Wednesday would be wise to have a look at the 28-year-old in the summer, although his actual valuation might be slightly higher.
One Wednesday fan is sat chatting to our landlord in the beer garden here at the Tavern and he thinks that Sinclair would represent a quality signing for the club, stating that the Scottish league could be a good place to shop in the summer.
Sheffield Wednesday fans, would you welcome Sinclair? Celtic fans, will Sinclair be subject of interest in the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
