Shock contender emerges for Fulham manager’s job

gray7621091Fulham fans in the Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox discussing reports of yet another manager linked with the vacant position at their club.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the club are now looking at former Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray.

The club’s owner Shahid Khan is growing increasingly frustrated at the length of time it has taken the club to name a replacement for former gaffer Kit Symons.

Khan thought he was close to naming Steve Clarke as the new manager, but the Reading manager opted to remain at Madejski Stadium following talks.

Khan’s frustrations were also not helped yesterday when bookies favourite for the job Mark Warburton distanced himself from the job, committing his immediate future to Rangers.

Gray would be seen as a simple appointment due to him currently being out of work, after being shown the door at Hillsborough during the summer.

The Fulham fans in the Transfer Tavern are not happy with the reports that the club seem to be settling for second best, and if that’s the case they feel Alan Curbishley would be better suited for the job!

Our landlord here in the Tavern has to agree with the Fulham faithful, and argues the club should have done all they can to get Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink to Craven Cottage!

Fulham fans….. What do you make of this news? Happy? What do you think of Stuart Gray? Let us know below!
