Lyon’s stopper Hugo Lloris has admitted he’s prepared to talk to Tottenham over a possible move. The French number 1 is held in high regard across Europe, having been courted by a number of top European clubs in the past including Milan and Manchester United.
It seems Redknapp could have finally lost patience with the ever erratic Heurelho Gomes and is keen to bring in a more reliable replacement. 24 year old Lloris commands his area, inspiring confidence throughout the defence, something lacking on various occasions this season for the north London club. It was only the former Nice keeper’s world-class saves which kept France in the world cup play off against Ireland, which was inevitably forgotten after a certain Mr Henry took matters into his own hands.
Lloris has expressed his willingness to listen to offers for his services, having told L’Equipe that ‘I am not closing the door to anyone’. If Spurs are to gatecrash the top four next season then a keeper of Lloris’s stature will have to be secured to eliminate the goalkeeping errors which have blighted a promising season.
