Southampton will be looking for a much better season next term as new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to build on his impressive short time at the club so far.

The Saints have managed to pull themselves clear of the relegation zone once more and will be hoping to bring in some new faces in the summer to further improve their chances of having a more successful campaign next year.

The south coast club have a rich history of bringing through young talent, and this weekend has seen the club linked with a move for one of the best young midfielders outside the Premier League in Charlton ace Joe Aribo.

The 22-year-old has been in superb form for the Addicks, playing a key role in proceedings as the club have reached the League One play-off final, where they will come up against old Wembley rivals Sunderland in a one game shootout to get back to the Championship.

Aribo has so much ability that it's amazing he is still plying his trade in the third tier, and a move this summer has to be on the cards, with a move to Southampton bound to make more sense than one to either City or Arsenal, where his game time would likely be severely limited.

Charlton have got the best out of Aribo as much as they can, and the chance to work with Hassenhuttl should be something which really appeals to the young midfielder.

In a time when big money transfers are the norm, Southampton swooping into League One and picking up one of the top talents outside the top flight would be a refreshing change for us all.
