Spurs are in great form at the minute and absolutely stormed past a poor Everton outfit at the weekend, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men looking like they were somewhere near back to their best.
Despite the title race being more or less over, there’s still plenty to play for where Spurs are concerned, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks the club are not going to be too far off challenging for the title next season provided the squad sticks together and a few additions are made.
However, he is becoming worried that season on season the club does not spend big on players, and he thinks this January and in the summer something needs to change at the club, with Daniel Levy the man in charge of loosening the purse strings.
One such player though who fits the mould of someone who can genuinely improve the Spurs squad, as well as take some of the load off of Harry Kane, is Lazio ace Ciro Immobile, who has been on fire this season for the Rome club.
The Italian has been on fire since moving back to Serie A from the Bundesliga, and tops the scoring charts this term with an impressive 16 goals to his name already, while he’s also notched up an equally impressive seven assists along the way.
At 27-years-old, he still has time to really reach his prime, and a move to the Premier League with an exciting young team like Spurs could well be of massive appeal to the former Borussia Dortund man.
A classy striker with a keen eye for goal, it would be interesting to see how he adapts to England, and if he could well form an exciting partnership with Harry Kane and finally guide Spurs to the trophies their fans so desperately want to see at the club.
Spurs fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
