Hull City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been hit with the disappointing news that striker Fraizer Campbell will not be returning to the KC Stadium.
Hull Daily Mail reports that Hull City manager Steve Bruce has dismissed reports that he is looking to sign the striker on loan.
With the loan window still open for Championship clubs it was thought that Bruce could strengthen his front options, but it seems that he will not be pursuing a move for Campbell.
Campbell had a successful spell on loan from Manchester United with the Tigers during the 2007/8 season when he made 37 appearances and scored 15 goals, and it was thought that a return could resurrect his career after falling down the pecking order at Crystal Palace.
The striker only scored five goals last season and is yet to make an appearance for his current club this term, and after summer acquisitions of Connor Wickham and Patrick Bamford it looks unlikely that he will feature for them any time soon.
Our resident Palace fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are deliberating this news, with all of them agreeing that the striker should be offloaded on a loan move to the Championship, as he is clearly not a first-team regular at Selhurst Park this season.
