Swansea City set to return for former midfield general, Liverpool contract has just one-year left to run

klopp0987822Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen could be in line for a sensational return to Swansea City, as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield with no negotiations currently in place with his current club.

The 26-year-old will head to France with Wales for Euro 2016 following the season and according to The Mirror, he could move back to the Swans if contract talks do not take place with Liverpool upon his return.

The news has upset a few of the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern, with many of the group believing that Allen has done okay this season when he has been called upon by boss Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool could sacrifice Allen as Klopp looks to put his own stamp on the squad at Anfield during the summer months and a move to Swansea does look viable at this stage.

One Swansea City fan has overheard this news whilst tucking into his Sunday lunch in the Tavern and he thinks that Allen would be a welcome addition to the Swans side, stating that he would add the bit of steel that the club has missed this season.

Liverpool fans, would you welcome the departure of Allen? Does he still have a role to play with Liverpool?
