Nasri’s Refusal to sign a new contract with Arsenal has left a sour taste in many a Arsenal Fans mouth.
He started last season on fire, and for the months leading up to the new year he was Arguably the best player in the premiership. Up untill this point, he was claiming to be more than happy to sign an extension and all seemed well with Arsenal.
Now what Arsenal fans find hard to understand, is where was these Outstanding Performances when the big games where coming thick and fast towards the latter stages of the season??
The truth is Nasri was AWOL in most of these games, and his mind seemed to be somewhere else. Everybody knows that Arsenal are a few missing jigsaw pieces to delivering the goods when it comes to winning trophies again call it stubbornness on Wenger’s part or misjudgement, the manager has now realised that he must spend heavily to strengthen the team.
So is Nasri going to wait and see if these big players come to Arsenal before he signs, Or is he going to sit out his last season at Arsenal and walk on a free. Which would be a stab in the back to all Arsenal fans.
Rumors are rife that Nasri could be on his way to Man City Or Man Utd, Are Man City really a step forward to winning trophies, or would he go there there to double his wages. Would he feel comfortable going to Man Utd??
If rumors are true, this would seem so. The fact is, Nasri is still only 24, and he has been at Arsenal for 3 seasons and hasnt won anything. Last season he seemed comfortable with the Premiership and he will only get better. But all signs are leading to him wanting more Money, and trying to hold the club to Ransom. With Fabregas plotting a way out to Barcelona, Nasri would than play in his Favoured central role.
He seems to have a good relationship with Arsene Wenger and with such a large French Contingent at Arsenal he seems to be at home. The issue about winning Trophies is a valid one, But I truthfully believe Arsenal will start to win things again very soon, Success brings confidence, and at the moment, Arsenal are lacking this, which was evident to see at the latter stages of last season.
If i was a betting man, I would say Nasri will be an Arsenal player at the start of the new season. But maybe earning a potential 110k a week just isnt enough. Look what happend to Adebayor when he got greedy and started to believe in his own hype.
It’s clear to see, There is not much loyalty left in this sport with agents and advisor’s all looking to make a cut in any deals they broker. But if Nasri does stay, he might just prove me wrong.
