A major debate has broken out in the Transfer Tavern, with fans from across Premier League football debating what could happen with this world-class manager.
Pep Guardiola has emerged as the prime managerial contender for a number of English sides after he confirmed he would leave Bayern Munich this summer, with the intention to manage in the Premier League.
However, the same report states that Manchester United could win the race if they move quickly and that Arsenal are also contenders for the 44-year-old’s signature. A source close to the Catalan boss commented on the speculation, stating:
“His representatives have received formal calls from City and United. And they have said no to Chelsea, who also called, and turned down Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.”
“Right now, it is true City are very close and his most likely destination. But he has never hidden his huge admiration for Manchester United and also the fact he would love to work there.”
“All the options are on the table and no definitive decision has been made.”
“And yes, though it’s unlikely at this stage, even Arsenal are an option. But they’ve not made a formal call, though they have inquired about Pep’s situation.”
The Citizens punters are concerned that he’s leaving the door open for other clubs, whilst the Arsenal fans are praying they land the experienced boss as the successor to long serving boss Arsene Wenger- who many feel has done all he can for the Gunners.
