Tottenham see bid rejected for talented Ligue 1 forward

pochettino9Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern praying for an arrival of a striker that can help lead them to Premier League glory have been handed a major kick in the teeth, making this evening’s pints difficult to swallow.

France Football states Spurs saw a bid for Jean-Kevin Augustin rejected by Paris Saint-Germain, who see the 18-year-old as far too valuable to let leave the French capital.

Tottenham are just five points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City and have conceded just 19 goals in the league this season, the lowest tally of all 20 clubs, but do not possess a talented striker to help Harry Kane fire in the goals.

Spurs have been actively searching to fill this void in January but their bid for PSG star Augustin was firmly rejected, with the Ligue 1 giants adamant no young stars will leave after seeing Kingsley Coman enjoy a meteoric rise after joining Juventus in 2014.

Our Spurs punters are hoping that the club return with a better bid for Augustin’s services but our landlord believes there’s no point in trying, as PSG won’t budge from their firm stance.
